History

The original Royal Oak was built in 1822 as an inn and public house. In 1900 the new owners demolished the original structure and constructed the existing building as a station for a railway which never happened. The railway was planned to run between Tarporley and Mouldsworth, but was aborted by Railway Commissioners.

Since then the Royal Oak, has hosted a bowling green and billiards room in the 1930’s, been a stop for many travellers whom travelled along the old main road and since the completion of the bypass in 1986, it has become a relaxing place to dine.

The Royal Oak now prides itself on the high quality of fresh food, using local suppliers and excellent Service. We offer diners an exquisite experience in a relaxed and charming atmosphere.
