Chester Racecourse

Chester is the oldest racecourse in the UK and possibly the world, the first recorded race was held on February 9th 1539. Over £10m has been invested in the course over recent years including the development of the Pavilion facility, Restaurant 1539 and Paddock redevelopment.

There are few more thrilling sights in British Racing than the horses thundering into the final furlong at Chester.

Cheshire Polo Club

The present Cheshire Polo Club dates from 1952 but it is the successor to a number of clubs that have played in the North West for over a hundred years. The earliest of these was the Manchester Polo Club that can rightly claim to be the oldest club in England, after the game had been brought to this country from India in the 1860’s.

Delamere Forest Golf Club

Founded in 1910 and designed by the renowned architect Herbert Fowler, Delamere Forest Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the best heathland golf courses in England. Situated in the heart of rural Cheshire but with easy access, Delamere is often described as a ‘hidden gem’.

Its rolling fairways are interspersed with heather and gorse, crowned by fast, subtle greens which are typical of Fowler’s early designs.

As a result the course offers a fair but tough challenge to visitors and members alike.

Eaton Golf Club

Our course was designed by Donald Steel, the celebrated golf architect, as an enjoyable challenge for players of all abilities.

Located some four miles from the historic city of Chester and with views of Cheshire and North Wales, Eaton Golf Club offers a wide range of high quality facilities for members and the many visitors who take part in open tournaments, society events and charity days.

Oulton Park Race Circuit

Widely acknowledged as the most picturesque race circuit in the country, Oulton Park is recognised as much for its stunning surroundings as the spectacular racing that takes place on its hallowed tarmac.

Voted the best UK circuit by BSB fans in 2007, Oulton Park features rapidly changing gradients and blind crests, and presents a supreme challenge to riders.

Spectators can enjoy fantastic views of the action, with the outside of Knickerbrook in particular a favourite of the crowds.

Flintshire Flying School
